As a lesbian who has been recently diagnosed with HSV2 how are other lesbians finding it? I had my first disclosure/rejection and I don’t think I can go through that again. I just need some reassurance

I may not be a lesbian or a woman but I'd bet the rejection is pretty similar. It is a lot at the beginning. I was diagnosed in 2019 after the first breakout so I've had my time with it, it gets easier I promise and at some point you realize you just have a minor thing and if someone doesn't want you because of that then fuck them, they're the ones missing out. I hope you find your worth again because it sure as hell didn't change because of this

I'm glad you reached out. A recent diagnosis, combined with a painful rejection, can leave you feeling shaken and afraid of what comes next, and that is a lot to carry. HSV-2 is very common, and many people who have it never notice symptoms. It can be found among women who have sex with women, and it does not define your health, your body, or your worth. A reaction from one person usually reflects their own fears or gaps in knowledge, not your value. Herpes is a manageable, chronic condition. Antiviral medications can often shorten outbreaks, reduce how often they happen, and lower the chance of passing the virus to others. Outbreaks often become less frequent over time for many people. Please speak with your doctor or a sexual health clinic, who can explain your results and treatment options in detail. Counseling or reputable support groups can also help you feel less alone with this. You deserve care and support, and many people find their sense of stability returns as they learn more.
