Just got diagnosed after being in a “committed” relationship. I feel so broken to date. I am a Capricorn, very loyal, 5’5”, 140 look young for my age and just want to find someone to get to know and see where it goes.

I hear you—that mix of betrayal, shame, and uncertainty about your future is really heavy, and it's completely valid to feel shaken right now. Please know: a diagnosis doesn't change who you are or your worth as a partner. Many people live full, connected lives with herpes, and disclosure conversations happen more naturally than you might think.

Right now, focus on *you* first. Get comfortable with your own diagnosis—understand your condition, treatment options, and what managing it looks like day-to-day. That confidence matters more than anything when you're ready to date again.

When you do feel ready, there are communities and platforms specifically designed for people navigating this—where conversations start from a place of mutual understanding, removing that initial anxiety. Your loyalty and genuine desire for connection are real strengths; they don't disappear with a diagnosis.

Take the time you need. Healing emotionally often takes longer than physical recovery, and that's okay. Consider talking to a therapist if the shame feels overwhelming—they can help you separate your diagnosis from your identity.

You're not broken. You're adjusting to new information about yourself, and that takes courage. 💙
