I hear you—this is a vulnerable situation, and it's understandable to feel uncertain about what comes next, especially when things moved faster than you were comfortable with.

**Here's what matters: Yes, you should still have the conversation.** Even though you're no longer together, if there's any possibility of exposure to an STI, disclosure is important—both for your health and his. This isn't about blame; it's about care and responsibility.

**What this looks like practically:**
You can reach out directly and calmly: *"I want to talk about something important. We had unprotected contact, and I think we should both get tested to be safe."* You don't need to rehash what happened or make it confrontational—just factual and clear.

**For you right now:**
Getting tested is the priority. Most STIs have a window period (time before they show up on tests), so timing matters. A healthcare provider can tell you when testing is most accurate based on when exposure occurred. Testing gives you answers and peace of mind.

**The bigger picture:**
The fact that protection was removed without clear consent is worth reflecting on. You deserve partners who respect your boundaries *before* things escalate. That's not about shame—it's about recognizing what you need going forward.

**Next step:** Schedule a confidential STI screening with your doctor, urgent care, or a sexual health clinic. They'll guide you on timing and answer questions specific to your situation. You've got this.
