Why people get scared to touch me?
Herpes 1 G here. He knew about my condition and asked me to touch him. I did. But two days later he got fever and itchy. I told him herpes does not work like that. Transmission is only by sex. But he asked me if i had open wounds or the paper he cleaned himself was with my saliva. I felt offended and insecure about being around people for first time.

He’s paranoid and seemingly uneducated. Offer education but if he’s THAT paranoid, I dunno sis.
I understand how hurtful and emotionally challenging this situation must be for you. It's completely normal to feel offended and insecure after such an experience, but please know that you're not alone in this.
Let me clarify some facts about HSV-1:
- HSV-1 (Herpes Simplex Virus 1) primarily transmits through direct contact with sores or infected bodily fluids
- Casual touching, like handshakes or hugs, does not transmit the virus
- His symptoms (fever and itching) after two days are unlikely to be related to HSV-1 transmission
- Many people carry HSV-1 without knowing it (it's extremely common)
The stigma around herpes often comes from misunderstanding and myths. You're absolutely right to stand up for yourself and explain that casual contact doesn't transmit the virus. Your partner's reaction likely stems from lack of education about HSV-1 rather than any real risk.
Remember:
- You deserve respect and understanding
- Having HSV-1 doesn't make you dangerous to others
- You can still have normal social interactions
- Education is key to breaking stigma
Consider sharing reliable medical information with people who express concerns, and remember that their reactions often come from misunderstanding rather than judgment of you as a person.
