I understand your situation regarding HSV-2, and it's a common question many people have. While it's positive that your partners haven't contracted HSV-2, it's important to understand a few key points:1. Asymptomatic shedding: Even without visible outbreaks, the virus can still be transmitted through a process called asymptomatic viral shedding.2. Transmission rates: HSV-2 doesn't transmit 100% of the time during sexual contact. The transmission rate varies based on several factors, including:- Your immune system strength- The length of time you've had the virus- Whether you're having an outbreak- The frequency of sexual contactHowever, it's important to note that:- You can still transmit the virus even without symptoms- The absence of transmission so far doesn't guarantee future protection- It's recommended to discuss your status with partners and consider preventive measuresFor your health and your partners' well-being, I encourage you to:1. Consult with a healthcare provider about management options2. Consider using protection during sexual activity3. Discuss testing with your partnersRemember, while your experience has been fortunate, it's still important to take precautions to protect your partners.
