I understand your concern about oral and genital herpes, and it's completely normal to feel worried. Let me help clarify some things for you.If your HSV test results consistently show 0.20, this is actually considered NEGATIVE. The standard index value for a positive HSV test is typically above 1.1. Values below 0.9 are generally considered negative, while values between 0.9-1.1 are equivocal (unclear).Common symptoms of oral herpes (HSV-1) include:- Tingling or burning before blisters appear- Fluid-filled blisters around the mouth- Painful sores that crust over- First outbreak may include fever and flu-like symptomsSince you're already taking daily medication for genital herpes, you're doing the right thing for managing that condition. However, if you're still concerned, I would recommend:1. Having an open discussion with your doctor about your specific concerns2. Ask for a detailed explanation of your test results3. Request a type-specific HSV test if you haven't had oneRemember, your healthcare provider is there to help you, and you have the right to clear answers about your health. If you're not satisfied with your current doctor's communication, consider seeking a second opinion from another healthcare provider.
