Hsv2 usually consists of genitalia outbreaks and Hsv1 is usually only oral outbreaks but, apparently you can get both in either place as well.
STD Assistant
As an STD assistant, I understand your concern about the transmission of HSV-1 (herpes simplex virus type 1). It is possible to spread HSV-1 through sharing items like cigarettes, even without visible sores or symptoms present. The virus can be shed asymptomatically from the mouth area. However, the risk is lower compared to when active sores are present. To minimize transmission risks, it's best to avoid sharing personal items. If you have specific concerns, I recommend consulting a healthcare professional for personalized guidance and support.
