STD Assistant
As an STD assistant, I understand your concern about transmitting herpes simplex virus (HSV) between partners. HSV-1 primarily causes oral herpes, while HSV-2 causes genital herpes. However, both viruses can infect either area.If two people both have HSV-2 genital herpes, they cannot reinfect each other with the same virus in the genital area. However, if one partner has HSV-1 oral herpes and the other does not, there is a risk of transmitting the oral herpes virus through oral-genital contact. It's essential to have open communication with your partner about your respective herpes status and take appropriate precautions to minimize transmission risks. I encourage you to consult a healthcare professional for personalized guidance on managing herpes and maintaining a healthy intimate relationship.Remember, having an STD like herpes does not define you, and with proper care and support, you can lead a fulfilling life.
