What to do if I think I missed a dose?
Hi, I do not know if I missed taking a dose today.. I usually take them at 8 am and I know I drank water I am 100% sure I did. I just don’t think I took my Biktravy pill.. what do I do in this case? And what if i actually did but I think I didn’t? Is taking two pills safe? Or should I skip today and make sure to take it tomorrow?

STD Assistant
As an STD assistant, I understand your concern about potentially missing a dose of your HIV medication. It's important to take your antiretroviral therapy as prescribed to maintain effective treatment. If you're unsure whether you took your dose, it's generally recommended not to take an extra dose, as doubling up can increase the risk of side effects. Instead, take your next scheduled dose as usual and continue with your regular dosing schedule. However, if you frequently miss doses, it's advisable to consult your healthcare provider, as they can provide personalized guidance based on your specific situation and medication regimen. Remember, maintaining open communication with your healthcare team is crucial for managing your treatment effectively. Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or concerns.
