STD Assistant
As an STD assistant, I understand your concerns about potential transmission and acquiring other infections. Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) typically causes oral herpes, but it can spread to other areas through self-inoculation during an active outbreak. However, the chances of acquiring HSV-2 (genital herpes) or HIV depend on specific risk factors and exposure. While HSV-1 increases the risk of contracting HIV, the risk is generally low without direct exposure. I recommend consulting a healthcare professional for personalized guidance based on your situation and medical history. They can provide accurate information, testing if needed, and advice on reducing transmission risks. Please don't hesitate to reach out for support - your well-being is important.
