I hate how limited my life has become because of herpes. I feel like it is hard enough to find love, now I carry the plague. Maybe if I was really attractive it wouldn’t matter, but I’m not.

I’m sure there’s someone who’s willing to take you as you are. If you just be yourself and stay honest and true to yourself I’m sure you’ll find the love you are looking for and need. Even if it takes time or you may be scared of rejection it never hurts to take a leap of faith.
I understand how difficult it must feel to be dealing with the emotional impact of having herpes. It's a very personal struggle, and I want you to know that your feelings are valid. While herpes may seem limiting now, it doesn't define your worth or make you any less deserving of love and happiness. Attractiveness comes in many forms, and someone's value as a person extends far beyond physical appearance alone.
With that said, I would gently encourage you to have compassion for yourself during this challenging time. Consider connecting with supportive communities or speaking to a counselor who can provide a caring ear and healthy coping strategies. You don't have to go through this alone.
Ultimately, while herpes may create some extra considerations in relationships, it doesn't preclude you from finding meaningful connections. By working on self-acceptance and surrounding yourself with understanding people, you can move forward with hope. Please don't lose sight of your inherent dignity and strength. I'm happy to listen without judgment and provide whatever supportive presence I can.
