First of all, don’t hurt yourself. I thought of that before. But you don’t want to hurt the people you love that you leave behind. I can tell you I’ve had herpes for 38 years. At some point, you just become used to it. It helps if you can take the Valtrex prophylactically every day to keep you from having an outbreak. That will increase your mental stability. And I would talk to someone about getting on an antidepressant. Millions of people have herpes and probably millions of people are on antidepressants. Not all of them are bad. You’re going to be fine the longer you have it you will come to a point where you don’t even think about it unless you have to tell someone. And if you meet someone on this sitewhich can happen, you don’t have to tell them they know. Even when I got married twice and had one long-term relationship, both people were OK with that and didn’t have a problem. People are not as mean as we think they are.

I’ve had it for about 25 years. It gets better with time just hang in there.

I was in your shoes for a long time at least a good year and a half and what helped is one getting myself on antidepressants, you won’t regret it, that did the most but also educate yourself on it, learn, connect with people here, and honestly move on. I haven’t told many regular people but the ones I have handled it much better then I would have thought.
