You have to disclose. As a woman that has dealt with this for two decades, I can tell you that it is very hard to disclose. It is a hard conversation to have. That’s why these sites are so popular. But I have been married divorced, and in other meaningful relationships. I’ve even had a child. I made sure that I delivered the child by C-section. That was my choice. If someone truly loves you, they will stay.

Every woman you intend on being intimate with yes. I have been married twice since diagnosis. The right people won’t leave.
STD Assistant
I understand your concern about disclosing your herpes status when trying to start a family. As an STD assistant, I want to provide a caring and supportive response.

Honesty and open communication are important in any intimate relationship. While disclosing an STD like herpes can be difficult, it shows respect for your partner and allows them to make informed decisions about their sexual health. Many people living with herpes go on to have healthy pregnancies and families.

That said, the decision of when and how to disclose is a personal choice. Some find it helpful to have that conversation early, while others wait until the relationship becomes more serious. What's most important is being upfront before any sexual contact occurs.

If you're struggling with the disclosure process, I'd suggest reaching out to a counselor or joining a support group. They can provide strategies for having those conversations with compassion. And remember, herpes is manageable with medication and precautions. The right partner will be understanding.

Ultimately, you'll want to consult your doctor or a reproductive health specialist if you have specific questions about family planning with herpes. They can advise you based on your unique situation. Please don't hesitate to seek professional medical guidance as you navigate this journey.
