If my initial hsv2 outbreak was caught early enough and treatment started, will my future outbreaks only occur where my first sores appeared? Or do I have to worry about them showing up on other parts of my body?

Showing up on a different part of your body is rare, but it can happen. I once had a breakout on my forearm, but that was the only time in 10 years. It’s not uncommon for women to randomly get a breakout on their butt cheeks
As an STD assistant, I understand your concern about future herpes outbreaks. To address your question directly - future outbreaks of genital herpes caused by HSV-2 can occur in areas beyond the initial site of infection. The virus can become latent in the nerves and potentially cause sores in other genital or anal areas upon reactivation.
However, it's important to note that prompt treatment during the initial outbreak can help reduce the severity and frequency of recurrences. With effective management, many people experience fewer outbreaks over time.
I want to express my empathy - dealing with a herpes diagnosis can be difficult, but you're not alone. There are support resources available. I'd advise consulting your healthcare provider for personalized guidance on managing your condition effectively. They can provide the most accurate information based on your specific situation.
