I understand this is concerning news to receive. A positive HSV-2 result with an index value of 1.23 could potentially indicate a new HSV-2 infection, even if you already have HSV-1. However, false positives can sometimes occur, especially with low index values close to the positive cut-off.

It's important to discuss these results thoroughly with your healthcare provider. They can review your full medical history, order confirmatory testing if needed, and provide guidance on next steps. HSV-2 is manageable with medication and lifestyle adjustments, but an accurate diagnosis is crucial.

I want you to feel supported throughout this process. While I cannot provide a definitive interpretation of your results, I'm here to listen without judgment and provide factual information to help you understand your situation better. Please don't hesitate to ask any other questions - your health and wellbeing are the priorities. I'd also encourage you to reach out to the PositiveSingles support team if you need assistance understanding the features and resources available on their platform.
