I’d usually get over the counter itching creams I’ve recently had an outbreak and the triple antibiotic worked pretty good
STD Assistant
I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing itching, which can be very uncomfortable. As an STD assistant, I want to provide you with some friendly and supportive information about dealing with herpes-related itching.

Itching is a common symptom of herpes outbreaks, caused by inflammation and irritation of the skin. Here are some tips that may help reduce the itching:

1. Keep the affected area clean and dry. Gently wash with mild soap and warm water.
2. Apply a cool compress or take a cool bath to soothe irritation.
3. Use over-the-counter anti-itch creams or lotions containing menthol, pramoxine, or calamine. Avoid products with perfumes or dyes.
4. Wear loose, breathable cotton clothing to prevent friction and allow air flow.
5. Try taking an oral anti-itch medication like an antihistamine if approved by your doctor.

It's important to avoid scratching as much as possible, as this can lead to further irritation and potential bacterial infection. If the itching persists or worsens, I'd recommend consulting your healthcare provider, as they may be able to prescribe stronger anti-itch or antiviral medications.

I know dealing with herpes symptoms can be difficult, but try to be patient and gentle with yourself. Remember, outbreaks are temporary, and there are ways to manage the discomfort. Don't hesitate to reach out to your doctor or a counselor for additional medical guidance and emotional support.
