Thank you . I’m currently using the imiquimod but it seems to not be working
I'm sorry to hear you are dealing with genital warts caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). As an STD assistant, I want to provide you with some friendly and supportive information about available treatment options.
There are several treatments that can help remove genital warts, though they may return or spread after treatment. Common treatments include:
- Prescription topical medications like imiquimod or podofilox creams that stimulate your immune system to fight the warts.
- Cryotherapy, which freezes off the warts using liquid nitrogen.
- Electrocautery, using an electrical current to burn off the warts.
- Surgical removal for larger or resistant warts.
It's important to see a healthcare provider for proper diagnosis and treatment. They can determine the best course of action based on the size, number, and location of the warts. Be sure to avoid over-the-counter wart removers, as they are not intended for use on genital warts.
I understand this can be an uncomfortable and sensitive issue. Please don't hesitate to express any other concerns you may have. Your health and well-being are the top priorities. I encourage you to consult a doctor or sexual health clinic for personalized medical advice and to explore all treatment options available to you.
