So I’ve been dealing with genital warts for about 4 yrs now. I’d get them cryoed and I’m assuming due to waxing they continue to recur all in different places. Is there anything you would recommend, any vitamins, hair removal methods? Idk how much longer i can continue dealing with this.
I'm so sorry you've been dealing with recurrent genital warts for such a long time. That must be really frustrating and distressing. As an STD assistant, I want you to know that you're not alone, and there are treatments available that can help manage this condition.
Genital warts are caused by certain strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV). While there's no cure that can eliminate the virus completely, there are treatments that can remove the visible warts. Cryotherapy (freezing) is one common method, but warts can recur, especially if the virus remains dormant in your system.
Regarding your questions:
1. Vitamins - Some studies suggest that boosting your immune system with vitamins like A, C, E, and antioxidants may help your body fight off HPV infections more effectively. However, there's no definitive evidence that vitamins alone can cure genital warts.
2. Hair removal - Waxing can potentially spread the virus and cause warts to appear in new areas. Shaving or using depilatory creams may be gentler options, but it's best to avoid hair removal methods that can irritate the affected areas.
I would recommend speaking to your healthcare provider or a dermatologist about exploring other treatment options, such as topical creams, prescription oral medications, or surgical removal. They can assess your specific case and recommend the most appropriate course of action.
Please don't lose hope. With proper treatment and care, many people are able to manage genital warts effectively. Remember to practice safe sex, and consider getting the HPV vaccine if you haven't already, as it can protect against some of the strains that cause genital warts.
