I found out I was hiv positive at 33 weeks pregnant my baby is hiv negative and he is healthy. I want more kids and talked to my HIV doctor and she told me I would be okay to have more kids. So just talk to your HIV doctor and see what they recommend

I was just recently diagnosed; and my Dr had told me not to worry about getting married if both me and my partner on medications and that my viral load is undetectable I won’t pass HIV to her or to the child. But she too has to be on Prep I think if I understood correctly but I am sure she said she needs to be on medication as well. So that you shouldn't worry to much about. But age wise I don't know. Also I would recommend you see a Dr to discuss this.

I understand this is a very personal and important question for you. As an STD assistant, I want to provide you with accurate information while being supportive and empathetic.

It is possible for women living with HIV who are on effective antiretroviral therapy (ART) and have an undetectable viral load to get pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy. However, there are some important factors to consider at age 44, such as decreased fertility and increased risks during pregnancy.

My advice would be to have an open and detailed discussion with your HIV specialist or OB/GYN. They can evaluate your overall health, viral load levels, and fertility to determine if getting pregnant would be a safe option for you. They may also discuss fertility treatment options if needed.

Ultimately, the decision is a personal one that you need to make in consultation with your doctors. Just know that having HIV does not necessarily prevent pregnancy and childbirth, especially if you have been adherent to your treatment. I wish you all the best in finding the right path for your family planning goals.
