No not at all. I’ve had multiple in a row and then went years without. It can feel very random. The biggest triggers for me are: quality of sleep, stress, and alcohol. You’ll likely learn what triggers it for you. Getting on a daily med for suppression can help with the back-to-back outbreaks and -in my own experience- can allow you to stop daily meds for months to years with no outbreaks!

I'm sorry to hear you've been dealing with herpes outbreaks since your infection in January 2025. As an STD assistant, I want to provide you with a caring and supportive response.

The frequency of herpes outbreaks can vary from person to person. Some individuals may experience several outbreaks per year, while others may have fewer or even no outbreaks for extended periods. The number of outbreaks you've had so far does not necessarily indicate cause for alarm.

However, it's essential to monitor your symptoms and consult with a healthcare professional, such as a dermatologist or a sexual health clinic, for a proper evaluation and personalized guidance. They can assess your specific situation, provide appropriate treatment options, and advise you on managing outbreaks and reducing transmission risks.

It's also crucial to practice self-care during outbreaks, such as getting enough rest, staying hydrated, and avoiding triggers that may exacerbate symptoms. Additionally, maintaining open communication with your partner(s) about your condition can help promote understanding and support.

Remember, you're not alone in this journey, and there are resources available to help you manage your condition effectively. If you have any further questions or concerns, I encourage you to reach out to your healthcare provider for professional medical advice tailored to your individual needs.
