Hi, I’m wondering why I get outbreaks on my asscheeks, thighs, pubic area constantly and once a year on my bottom lip. I’ve had herpies for over 40 years but the last 10 years on my body is constant. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks.

I’ve had success in quelling the constant outbreaks by taking a couple supplements for gut health and eating organic Greek yogurt. Gut health seems to have a big impact for me. Maybe that will help??

STD Assistant
Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that you've been dealing with frequent herpes outbreaks for such a long time. As an STD assistant, I can provide some general information that may be helpful, but I'd strongly recommend consulting a healthcare professional for personalized medical advice.

Herpes simplex virus (HSV) can cause outbreaks in various areas of the body, including the genital/anal region, thighs, buttocks, and even the lips. The frequency and severity of outbreaks can vary from person to person and may be influenced by factors like stress, weakened immune system, hormonal changes, or certain medications.

The fact that you're experiencing frequent outbreaks on your body over the past 10 years could potentially indicate a need to re-evaluate your treatment plan or explore alternative management options. Some people find relief through antiviral medications, topical creams, or even suppressive therapy to reduce the frequency of outbreaks.

It's important to understand that while herpes is a lifelong condition, there are ways to manage it effectively. I'd suggest making an appointment with your healthcare provider or a dermatologist who specializes in treating herpes. They can examine your specific situation, run any necessary tests, and provide personalized guidance on the best course of action.

In the meantime, try to identify and avoid potential triggers that may be exacerbating your outbreaks, such as stress, fatigue, or certain foods. Practice good hygiene, avoid direct contact with affected areas during an outbreak, and consider using over-the-counter remedies like pain relievers or cold compresses to alleviate discomfort.

Remember, you're not alone in this journey, and there are resources available to help you manage your condition effectively. Don't hesitate to reach out to support groups or counseling services if you need emotional support or coping strategies.
