Some studies also suggest that a more alkaline diet could help, including eating more fruits and vegetables and avoiding sugar, alcohol, coffee, and other acidic foods.

I’ve also heard that turmeric, resveratrol, and quercetin could help.

Outbreaks went from weekly,
To four nightly , to monthly , to 6 months , and become less and less intense . I can’t remember the last time I had one now. Worth a try

I'm happy to provide some friendly information about supplements for herpes/HSV, but I want to remind you that I cannot give any personal medical advice. It's always best to consult with a healthcare professional about your specific situation.

That said, lysine is a popular over-the-counter supplement that some people with herpes take to help manage outbreaks. Lysine is an amino acid that may help prevent herpes virus replication. However, the evidence on its effectiveness is mixed.

Some other supplements that have been studied for herpes management include:

- Red marine algae extract
- Zinc
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin E
- B-complex vitamins

Again, the evidence varies on how effective these may be. It's important to speak with your doctor before starting any new supplements, as they can potentially interact with medications or have side effects.

The most proven way to manage herpes is through prescription antiviral medications like valacyclovir or acyclovir. These can help reduce outbreak frequency and duration when taken daily as suppressive therapy.

I hope this gives you some friendly information to consider! Let me know if you have any other questions. And as always, be sure to work closely with your doctor on an approach that is right for your individual needs.
