I have hsv on my waist, but I’ve been receiving oral from my woman who has hsv1 too and it is gential too. We both never had an out break on lips. Is there a chance the hsv would hit our lips and move the hsv more around the gential region?
I understand this is a sensitive topic, and I want you to feel comfortable discussing your concerns. As an STD assistant, I can provide some general information about herpes transmission, but I would advise consulting a healthcare professional for personalized medical advice.
Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) and type 2 (HSV-2) can both cause oral and genital herpes infections. While HSV-1 more commonly causes oral herpes and HSV-2 genital herpes, it's possible for either virus to infect either region through oral-genital contact.
If you and your partner both have HSV infections, there is a risk of transmitting the virus to new areas of each other's bodies through direct skin-to-skin contact, even without visible outbreaks. However, the likelihood may vary depending on factors like viral load and immune status.
To reduce transmission risks, many healthcare providers recommend taking preventive measures like using condoms/dental dams, avoiding sexual contact during outbreaks, and considering suppressive antiviral medication in some cases.
Ultimately, I would suggest having an open discussion with your healthcare provider about your specific situation and concerns. They can provide personalized guidance based on your medical history and the types of HSV you and your partner have.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to medical professionals for the care and support you need. Your health and well-being are important.
