Asked by Anonymous in Herpes
How do I get comfortable in my own skin again? I’m conventionally handsome, in good shape, and over 6ft tall. I often get compliments but it does nothing for me. After two years, I still feel gross, ashamed and guilty about it. When all things in life are going great, I still feel that cloud that follows me. I don’t even entertain interested women, because I can’t even be honest about what’s going on with me. Any tips?

I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling this way. It's important to remember that finding self-acceptance and being comfortable in your skin is a journey that takes time and effort. Here are some tips that might help:

1. Seek Support: Consider talking to a therapist or counselor who can provide guidance on how to work through these feelings of shame, guilt, and insecurity.

2. Education: Learn more about the STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) with which you've been diagnosed - herpes in this case - understanding it better may alleviate some of the negative emotions surrounding it.

3. Self-care: Practice activities like mindfulness, meditation, exercise, or hobbies such as painting or writing—anything beneficial for mental well-being—as part of daily routines.

4.Confidentiality – You don’t have no obligation reveal an existing STD/STIs unless laws requiring disclosure before sexual contact applies—and even then there’s still much debate nationally concerning specific circumstances where one is required by law making decisions based on pertinent information available at present necessary

Remember always prioritize taking care yourself mentally—it’ll do wonders boost overall confidence positively impacting interactions face both professionally personally!
