When I had my first outbreak I felt like I had the flu. I was sensitive to touch and felt so hot. Could barely walk or do my job. But I had no itching at all.
If you have contracted HSV-2 (Genital Herpes), itching may not necessarily start right away. Symptoms of herpes can vary from person to person and some individuals may experience symptoms soon after infection, while others might not show any signs for weeks or even months.
Itching is a common symptom associated with herpes outbreaks but it typically occurs along with other symptoms such as painful sores, blisters, tingling sensations in the genital area, and flu-like symptoms like fever and body aches. If you suspect that you've been exposed to HSV-2 or are experiencing any unusual changes in your genital area including itching, it's important to get tested by a healthcare provider for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment if needed.
