In the state of Texas is unlawful or illegal to not disclose this information…The law was made because people were intentionally infecting people and hasn’t updated for those who are U=U (undetectable) as it can be an abused loophole “well I was undetectable at the time” (even so it takes intent because it takes 2 weeks for someone who is U=U to turn Detectable again)…We should normalize MyChart and Doctors who don’t mind a quick call to confirm your status for disclosure purposes only

Against the law or not, be a decent human being and tell the person you’re having sex with whether you’re undetectable or not. How would you like it if someone did that to you? Grow up.

In many places, it is a legal requirement to disclose your HIV status to potential partners, even if you are undetectable. This disclosure helps ensure informed consent and prevents the transmission of the virus. It's essential to understand and follow local laws regarding this issue for everyone's well-being. If you have any concerns or need further guidance on this matter, consider consulting with a healthcare provider familiar with these regulations in your area.
