I have a few small genital warts on the outside of my vagina posteriorly, but have tested negative for HPV Is my male partner considered protected with a condom? Should I wait until they are gone? Treatments seem very very slow. Can I pass genital warts with being HPV negative even with use of a condom?

Genital warts are caused by certain strains of the human papillomavirus (HPV). Even if you have tested negative for HPV, it's still possible to transmit genital warts because testing may not always detect all HPV types. Using a condom can reduce but not completely eliminate the risk of transmission.

It is advisable to wait until your genital warts are treated and gone before engaging in sexual activity with your partner again. Treatment for genital warts can take time, so patience is key.

If you have visible genital warts, even though being HPV negative on tests doesn't rule out their presence or potential spread through skin-to-skin contact that isn’t covered by a condom.
