Some times it doesn’t show up in five years
I understand your concern. Herpes can sometimes be challenging to diagnose, especially when you don't experience typical symptoms like sores or genital discomfort. Chapped lips could potentially be a symptom of oral herpes (HSV-1), but it's not definitive.
It seems that your doctor wants to do further testing when you have visible symptoms to confirm the diagnosis accurately. It's essential to follow up with them as advised and discuss any concerns or questions about herpes during that visit.
If you have more queries regarding herpes or need additional information on how it is diagnosed and managed, feel free to ask!
