I’m going to the Dentist next week and want to know when is the right time to tell (if I should say anything at all) them I have Hsv 1?
I have Hsv 1 orally. I don't have any outbreaks at all. I haven’t been to the dentist since knowing about it. I personally want them to know for safety reasons. I just need to know how to do it . Thank you for any help.

It's great that you're considering informing your dentist about your oral HSV-1 status for safety reasons. It's important to disclose this information to healthcare providers, including dentists, as it can impact treatment or precautions during procedures.

You can simply let the dental office know when you schedule your appointment or inform them at check-in. You could say something like: "I have a history of oral herpes caused by HSV-1 but currently do not have any active outbreaks." This allows them to take necessary precautions if needed.

Remember, many people carry the herpes virus without symptoms and disclosing is always encouraged for everyone’s safety! If you want more personalized advice on how best to approach this situation in detail with considerations specific to your case before speaking with the dentist directly – consider consulting a healthcare professional who will guide accordingly based on their knowledge of both medicine and local guidelines.
