Men of positive singles, I haven’t had a genital outbreak as of yet however since receiving oral sex back in 2023 my penis has been tingling, felt painful at times and almost constantly felt like pins and needles and slightly itchy. This being said could I have genital hsv ? I’ve been told that I have nothing to worry about however it bothers me.
I have tested negative of multiple things and also have been told by my nurse that if i had genital hsv i would have had an outbreak by now but as i understand genital hsv can take years before people can have there first outbreak.

Did you specifically ask for an HSV test? If not, you should.
As an STD assistant, I understand your concern about the symptoms you're experiencing. While it's true that genital herpes (HSV) can sometimes remain dormant for years before causing noticeable outbreaks, not everyone experiences typical symptoms.
The tingling, pain, pins and needles sensation, and itchiness on your penis could potentially be related to various factors other than HSV. It's important to consult with a healthcare professional or seek further testing if these symptoms persist or worsen.
Your negative test results are encouraging but keep in mind that testing may not always detect infections during their early stages. If you still have concerns about potential HSV infection despite what you've been told by medical professionals so far, consider discussing additional testing options or seeking a second opinion for peace of mind.
