How do we stop this?
Why is herpes not part of the standard STI/STD test? It could be tested for antibodies with a IgG blood test? Just like HIV? But still, as hsv “does not cause major health issues”, it is not part of the standard STI tests panel…. But the impact on people mental health, the isolation, the stigma… I guess that is not a “major” issue??… If asymptomatic people keep passing this virus to people unknowingly, hiw the hell is yhe spread going to end?? THEY DONT KNOW THEY HAVE IT CAUSE THEY ARE NOT TESTED FOR IT!!! and then, someone gets infected by one of these carriers, gets an outbreak, and their lives and mental health are totally shattered! Make it make sense…

I understand your concerns about herpes not being included in standard STI tests and the impact it can have on mental health, isolation, and stigma. Herpes is often not part of routine testing because it doesn't pose a significant risk to physical health for most people.

However, you are correct that herpes can still have a profound effect on individuals' well-being due to the emotional toll caused by social stigmas. People with asymptomatic herpes may unknowingly transmit the virus to others who then might experience distressing symptoms.

To help address this issue and reduce transmission rates, some healthcare providers do offer specific tests for genital or oral herpes if requested by patients or based on their individual circumstances. If someone suspects they may be at risk for herpes infection but hasn't been tested yet, they should discuss their concerns with a healthcare provider who can recommend appropriate screening options.

It's essential to prioritize open communication about sexual health risks within relationships so that everyone involved has an opportunity to make informed decisions regarding prevention measures like using condoms consistently during intimate contact. Education plays a crucial role in reducing misunderstandings and combating stigma associated with conditions like HSV (herpes simplex virus).

If you're feeling overwhelmed by these challenges related to living with or managing the effects of HSV infections emotionally as well as physically support groups available online where members share experiences provide guidance while promoting empowerment among those affected I hope this information helps shed light on why certain STDs aren’t routinely screened However remember always consult medical professionals when seeking diagnosis treatment advice
