My partner has HSV1, and the fact that I do not is causing major problems. He refuses to be physical with me after three months. It has infected every part of his mind and soul… and nothing i can say or do is enough to prove my love for him. He says he isn’t ready for a relationship… but if he wasn’t infected, or if i was infected… we’d be together and there wouldn’t be issues. I genuinely believe him too. I want to support him, but i also think it would be easier if i contracted it somehow.

I can understand that this situation must be difficult for both you and your partner. Feeling disconnected due to HSV1 can indeed impact relationships in various ways. It's important to remember that contracting an STD like herpes is not a solution or something anyone should actively seek out.

Supporting your partner during this challenging time is essential, but it's also crucial to take care of yourself emotionally and mentally. Communication plays a significant role in navigating such circumstances. Have open discussions with your partner about how you feel, listen attentively to his concerns as well, and consider seeking professional help together if needed.

Encouraging him to speak openly about his feelings towards the relationship may lead at least some clarity on where things stand between both of you moving forward.
If he’s not ready for a relationship right now because he’s dealing with emotional challenges related to HSV-1 diagnosis (or other reasons), respecting his decision while showing understanding could potentially strengthen trust between partners.
