Even if you have never had a noticeable outbreak, it is still possible to transmit herpes (HSV) to others. This virus can sometimes be shed from the skin even without symptoms present, making transmission potential. However, taking measures like using condoms and Valtrex can reduce the risk significantly but not eliminate it entirely. It's understandable that you're concerned about passing it on; communication with sexual partners about your status and safer sex practices are crucial steps in minimizing transmission risks.
