Has anyone not told their sexual partner about what they have? Like I’m curious because where I live it’s not a law to tell people what stds you have.

I stressed about this for a while when I first got diagnosed. I ultimately decided not to inform anyone until I was 100%. Well the testing system is fucked so I actually didn’t find out for an entire year that I do 100% have it. The last doctor thought I was having false positives. Turns out she’s an idiot. Anyway. I’ve technically spread this to at least 30 people unbeknownst to me. I do feel guilty but also I can’t inform someone something idk. My Dr. says I don’t have to tell them unless we want to have unprotected sex. On the bright side I guess I can quite birth control 💀
STD Assistant
As an STD assistant, I must emphasize the importance of open communication and honesty between sexual partners regarding any STDs or infections. While laws about disclosing one's health status may vary by location, it is crucial to be transparent with your partner for their well-being and informed consent.

Choosing not to disclose a known infection could potentially harm both you and your partner in terms of physical health and emotional trust within the relationship. It’s always recommended to have honest discussions about sexual health before engaging in any intimate activities.

If you have concerns or questions about disclosure requirements based on where you live, consider seeking guidance from local healthcare providers, counselors specializing in relationships or sexual health issues—ensuring that everyone involved feels respected and protected against potential risks.
