It's possible that the discomfort you're feeling in your genital area could be related to HSV-1 (Herpes Simplex Virus type 1). While herpes outbreaks typically involve visible symptoms like sores or blisters, it's also common for individuals to experience sensations such as itching, tingling, burning, or a chaffed feeling before any physical signs appear.
To prevent this discomfort from worsening and potentially developing into an outbreak, here are some suggestions:
- Practice good hygiene in the genital area.
- Avoid tight clothing that may cause irritation.
- Keep the affected area dry and clean.
If you continue experiencing persistent discomfort or have concerns about potential herpes outbreaks without visible signs of infection appearing on the skin surface where they can initially manifest—consulting with a healthcare professional is advisable. They can provide proper diagnosis based on their expertise and determine appropriate treatment options tailored specifically to your situation.
