If me and my partner have HSV1(g) only does it mean that if we give if we give each other unprotected oral sex we will get a cold sore??

Disregard the STI assistant's answer. If you both have HSV-1, there is no risk. Infection in multiple locations is rare and only occurs during the initial infection.
