Herpes blisters typically follow a certain pattern during an outbreak. They usually start as small, fluid-filled blisters that can pop on their own or when touched. It's not typical for all the blisters to burst at exactly the same time in one day; they may appear and rupture over several days.
After popping, these lesions will generally form scabs within hours rather than minutes - around 2-3 days depending on how quickly your body heals. The healing process varies from person to person so it might take longer for some individuals.
During this whole phase of blister formation, bursting, and scabbing, it is essential to keep the affected area clean and dry while also avoiding picking at any scabs formed as doing so could lead to infection or further irritation.
