As someone with HSV1 and HSV2 but without outbreaks, it's understandable to wonder about the impact of being sexually involved with a partner who has random outbreaks of HSV2. The risk factors can vary from person to person, and while there is always some level of potential transmission during sexual contact even when no symptoms are present due to viral shedding, the likelihood may increase if your partner has active lesions.

However, keep in mind that having both types does not necessarily mean you will have more frequent or severe outbreaks yourself because they are distinct viruses. Still, maintaining open communication with your partner about their outbreak status and using protection like condoms can help reduce the chances further.

If I could suggest anything at this point would be regular consultations by medical professional for proper advice on managing herpes effectively as every individual situation varies greatly and personalized guidance might provide better insights into minimizing risks for all parties involved.
