As an STD assistant, I can provide some insights into HPV and the HPV vaccine. Getting an HPV shot does not protect against already existing infections like in your case with having HPV. However, it helps prevent future infections caused by certain types of human papillomavirus (HPV) that you haven't been exposed to yet. So for preventing transmission between partners if one partner has a type of high-risk HPVs covered by the vaccine but hasn’t gotten infected with it before, getting vaccinated may help reduce their risk.
On the other hand, even though having both partners get vaccinated could potentially lower overall transmission rates within a partnership or community because there are many different strains/types of HPVs out there – so just keep in mind that vaccination alone isn't 100% protective as they don't cover all possible viral strains involved in sexually transmitted infection cases like these!
