I met my husband here. #Married
We originally had a lackluster chat and lost touch. A year or so later, he reached out to me again. During that year he’d cross my mind because we live in the same area and I’d wonder if we’d crossed paths without knowing. So when he popped back up, I wanted to talk to him. We spoke for two days on the phone and I invited him to meet up. It was a spur-of-the-moment invitation to join me at the park I was already on my way to if he wasn’t busy. I had him meet me at my favorite local park. We walked and sat on a bench overlooking the lake and talked for hours. We’ve been inseparable since. My advice would be to know what you value and what you want in a relationship in terms of how you interact, what level of commitment, what level of common interest, and non-negotiables you require to feel fulfilled. Don’t waste time with people who show early on that they aren’t a fit just because you want a partner. Ask questions to evaluate how closely you’re aligned. Don’t rush things and keep early dates low pressure/low expense. Most importantly…(I know this sounds cliché) be yourself.
