We got married. #Married
I was 69 and he was 68 in June 2013. I had been divorced 19 years and he four. I have been on the web site several years and he just two months with me being the second woman he had met from the site.I usually looked within a 100 mile radius of where I lived because I didn’t want to get into a long distance relationship. But, that day like some other days I was bored and decided to get outside my comfort zone to see who was out there.
He said something on his profile that made me laugh, so I made a comment about it and we started chatting. We chatted on the site for a couple of weeks and then graduated to phone calls. During those weeks on the phone we learned a lot about each other and knew we wanted to meet.
A couple of weeks later he was driving my direction for a sport he was into and continued the trip to meet me. Within an hour he met my daughters and a sister whom just happen to be in the area. : )
Two weeks later he came back, after that we saw each other every other week end. In three months we were engaged and over the next six months we planned our future. He retired, sold his home, moved to my place and we got married Feb 28, 2014.
He built him a workshop; which he had always wanted where he rebuilds vintage motor cycles and parts, for fun. We have been on a few motorcycle rides with family members and friends, so we decided to buy a Gold Wing trike for our trip to Durango CO this summer.
If I had any advice, it would be never give up, know what you want in your life, ask some prying personal questions and then get proof. Find out if your values and believes are close enough to work for each of you. Set expectations for the future, then evaluate to see how things are going, revisit expectations if needed.
Our life is near perfect! We have someone to wake up with and someone to spend the day with. We travel, fish, gamble, ride and spend time with friends and family. It is so good to have someone hold your hand, give you a hug and take out the dog..lol
We are so thankful that we are in good health, financially secure and have each other. Thanks to Positive Singles for being the vehicle that brought us together.
