Dates should be fun and memorable. There are so many things to do, but I always want a smile on my face when the date is over and I'm thinking about it.

For a first date, I’d like something simple, relaxed, and comfortable for both of us. Maybe meeting somewhere public that feels safe and neutral — a cozy café, a casual restaurant, or a quiet spot that isn’t too crowded or too noisy or too quiet. Somewhere we can actually talk, laugh a little, and see if the conversation flows naturally.
I think first meetings should feel low pressure. No big expectations — just two people getting to know each other in real time. I’d enjoy sharing a coffee or a light meal, asking meaningful questions, and seeing how we connect beyond the screen.
If we’re both feeling comfortable and the vibe is right, maybe a short walk afterward somewhere nearby. Nothing intense — just a chance to keep talking in a more relaxed setting.
And if things continue to feel easy and mutual (and only if we both genuinely feel safe), I’d love the idea of eventually cooking a simple meal together at one of our homes. Nothing fancy — just something collaborative and fun. Music in the background, shared laughter in the kitchen, and then relaxing with a movie or TV show we both enjoy.
To me, a great first date isn’t about impressing each other — it’s about feeling at ease. Good conversation, mutual respect, and a sense of comfort matter more than anything elaborate.
The goal is simple: leave the date feeling glad we met.

Any opportunity to meet new people is amazing. I would like to enjoy a conversation and share some laughs. First dates really suck, but they are so important. Just so you know where I stand, everybody starts as a friend.

Meeting for coffee or somewhere public to see if there is a connection keeps it simple. I mean it doesn’t have to be a “date.”

Lunch or coffee. Somewhere you feel safe and ideally during the day. Ideally near the Haymarket bus station, or if you fancy a trip to the seaside Needles Eye Cafe or Newbiggin Maritime Centre

Not for first date but I really like cooking together, cozy pj’s, watching a good movie on the couch.

Maybe going for a walk or grabbing a lite snack. I’m not very picky, but nothing to in depth to begin with.

Cup of Starbucks and a walk in the park. Lunch at a small restaurant. I am up for whatever. I don't party or dance. I like peaceful settings. Im not a crowd kind of person.

Ideal date? Right now I’m focusing in on just trying to get a response and/or not get blocked. Let’s try to get over those hurdles first.

I am new to the city so I open to suggestions. From mountain climbing to people watching, lol. Maybe take in a movie or just go sight seeing. Or maybe brunch, lunch or dinner: just letting the day make it's own plans.

I’m a hardworking man in my 60s, truck driver by trade, farmer by heart. I believe in early mornings, honest work, clean land, and keeping my word. My hands may be rough, but my loyalty runs deep. I’ve built my life through discipline and determination. Now I’m looking for a woman who values stability, integrity, and partnership. A woman who has done well for herself, who is generous in spirit, emotionally mature, and knows the difference between attention and real connection. I admire a woman who is caring, supportive, financially responsible, and confident, someone who understands that a strong relationship isn’t about competing, but about complementing each other. I’m not here for games. I’m here for peace, laughter at the kitchen table, shared goals, and building something that feels secure and lasting. If you believe love at this stage should be intentional, calm, and mutually supportive, we’ll get along just fine.
