Our first introduction would be best in a public place for lunch or coffee where neither person is feeling pressure and where you can actually talk to each other without having to shout over loud music. I've always believed it's human nature to know within a few moments if you have any kind of interest in another person so once lunch or coffee is over we'll know if we'd like to see each other again. And if not hopefully we've both made a new friend.

Truly, whatever you are comfortable with. I prefer doing something other than sitting across the table like an interview. Maybe a casual walk or easy hike, just talking and sharing, getting a feel for each other…..seeing if there’s that connection/chemistry that can be built upon.
