a mans first date idea should be as follows. take control of what you our planning do not ask her what she would like to do that will be your first mistake.if you ask her you our asking for approval of what she thinks. woman like the man to take control instead of being a wimp. plan an evening not romantic but something down to earth. something that would bring out the best in a person/ our the worst/ buy doing so it will give you a pretty good idea of what she is made of inside.ex sample take her to a McDonald's for lunch and then to a movie. if she thinks she is better then that then dump her. 2nd ex sample give her the but ten test. pick her up in a car that has no power door locks go to the door to get her. walk to the car unlock the door for her after she gets in the car close the door. walk around the back of the car look at her Thu the back window if she is not leaning over to push up the button to unlock the door then dump her, she just proved to be not for you. however if she does unlock the door for you then continue with a romantic evening you just found yourself a winner. i guess what I'm trying to say hear that there is more to a person then just going out on a romantic dinner. any one and i mean any one can be on there best behavior when being taken out to a nice place. I'm not in plying that you do not do this I'm just saying romance is in the heart not a restaurant. there is plenty of time for romance. if you want to find your soul mate do the simple things with each other to find out what you and her our about. How about a first date being a "Coffee Date" to see if we like each other and want to continue?

Meet at a public outdoor park, if a pretty day, and just talk to see if we have enough in common for a real date to follow later, or if we are at all attracted to each other .. (if any chemistry).

First date must be in a quiet place, either in nature, or an indoor location where conversation is not competing with raucous background noise. Ladies choice...

A lunch date at the CheeseCake Factory, then dinner at Red Lobster to finish our conversation.

dinner, chat, hug, walk in the park, mabey a game on tv, then its up to you, if things go good then we plan for our future
