OK, lets say there was a meeting, at a cafe or coffee shop and we are both satisfied with what one looks like and we feel an attraction, now we can get to a date. I would make a nice picnic lunch, throw in a blanket, and take you to my favorite spot on the creek and enjoy the day getting to know one another, or we could come up with something together.

I'll bring; wine (not screw cap) Lol, smoked Gouda, shrimp, cocktail sauce, multi-grain crackers, grapes, You bring a blanket and your charming self. We'll find a quiet beach (Casperson). Why not have a great setting for what may turn out to be a very memorable beginning. or dinner at a restaurant if you're not the picnic on the beach type.

Meet at a neutral location where we both agree we can do something that we enjoy... perhaps an amusement park or just taking a walk in a public park. It should be a place where we can talk openly and have extemporaneous dialogue while interacting. Perhaps afterwards, go to a local restaurant where we can eat and talk more privately.

My days of having sex for the sake of getting off are long gone. I have become one of those guys who needs a connection. There needs to be real intimacy involved. It is as though the clock has reset itself and there should be a reason for intimacy.

I think brunch or lunch at an outdoor cafe offers a perfectly comfortable opportunity to spend an hour or so to become acquainted.

I'm pretty flexible on the ideal first date thing.....Something like a pizza and a blues club would be great. "Casual" is the operative word. I found it best to keep expectations in check until an actual meeting.

Until recently, relationships developed by meeting in person, then calling, perhaps writing, swapping photos. Net.romance reverses this: First writing & photos, then calls, then a personal meeting. This can develop different feelings than the process we are wired for. Therefore a first date is to get to know each other, maybe a walk or a meal. I ask lots of questions, not to be judgmental or nosy, but to discover possibilities and potential areas of delight, and welcome the same from you. I’m romantic and passionate, but it takes time to develop. Romance should be supportive and deliver four A’s: Attention, Affection, Acceptance, Appreciation. Besides, the most important thing about ANY date is being together -- if it's the right person, that’s what really counts.
