I think coffee or your preferred morning drink at a restaurant is a good start, breakfast optional. We can chat, get comfortable with each other, let the nervousness settle and enjoy the morning sun.

I was thinking of suggesting a visit to The Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland, a magical space created by Julia Morgan with little rooms, hallways, fountains, caged birds, sky lights and millions of little windows behind which are urns of peoples ashes. This is not meant to be creepy, it's really a magical place at the entrance to the Mountain View cemetary at the top of Piedmont Ave.
I'm second generation born in Berkeley, know the area like the "back of my hand" and love to wander and explore.

It is always good to meet in a natural place like a coffee shop or a place with music in the background so we can chat and also a romantic dinner and have a night of bowling. Planning together an event or activity we both would like. These are just a few ideas to work with.

Easy going lunch - Thai is my favorite, followed by Italian pasta. Pick a place, pick a time - I'll meet you there.

Coffee or a drink and getting to know each other. Then a walk by a lake or the beach and having some fun.

This is not actually the first date, but it's what I would like to do. Sanibel Island, Florida. A cozy cafe on the beach, dinner for two while we have intimate conversations with the sound of the surf in the background. The room and table are consumed in candlelight and we, occassional reach out for each others hand over dessert. After dinner, we walk along the beach as the moonlight refects off the Gulf waters and hear the sound of the surf and and hear an occassional seagull searching for it's dinner. After a while, we retire to our bungalow where we can slowly and seductively enjoy each others company.

I'm not fussy about where to meet - since I live in Prescott (and have indicated that I would be interested in a match 100 miles away), I'd just like to plan for a lunch. It's an easy ride for one of us that way.

First date a brunch at a restaurant/coffee shop, or dinner at your favorite restaurant.
I'm a gentleman and believe the lady should be given special treatment. What ever is convenient for you first.

Just meeting, talking, looking for connection, compatibility, mutual attraction, chemistry. I’m down for anything really, that gives us an opportunity to get to experience and gather a little knowledge about each other.

Would like to share a meal and some great conversation to get to know each other without pretense. Find out what each other is really like and if we are a good fit

I'd prefer a conversation about the location. My preference would be a neutral daytime location. Just something low-key and minimal stress.

Coffee or cocktails with appropriate accompaniments in a quiet establishment where we can hear each other talk and/or a walk in a park or hike on a local trail within a reasonable distance from our respective locales. OR meet up for a stroll on the beach followed by sunset cocktails at the Baja Beach Cafe or the Lahaina in Pacific Beach, San Diego. Now, I am still building this profile and am having difficulties with certain aspects like the fun questions that seem to arbitrarily change my answers. Go figure..... Pictures, Premium and more later! <[;-)

A first could be coffee, tea and me..eting.
A second date should allow us to talk, see if there is chemistry, connection, and more.
The idea date has to be in a place with ambiance ( inside or out), music and timeless if it is a match.

Don't be shy because I am looking forward to meeting you! No way to feel the chemistry except looking into each other's eyes.

not interested in a LTR. More like lets have some fun in the sheets. As long as we are honest about things, and want to have a good time.

I know that a lot of people get together at first over coffee, which I don't drink after noon. I don't see a problem with something that simple and inexpensive and
casual.
In Washington I would want to meet in Port Townsend. Someone from Canada I would meet in Port Angeles, WA. In Texas, Dripping Springs.
As for a first date, I would hope that the man would be able to drive in the dark
because in the winter it gets so dark so early. That's not much of a problem in
Washington when it stays light until nine pm. or later in the summer.
That said I think a first date would be one in which we could converse. As much as I love to be entertained, I would want to be able to focus on each other. So a dinner with perhaps a follow-up with a walk in a safe place or a stop off where music is being played would be a nice date . I am not much of a couples dancer. But. I do dance.
BTW, I rarely drink alcohol.

Meet up and get to know each other with good food. Talk about life and where you're at now in life. Just see where we're at.
