And so…we meet and there’s that first sweet moment of recognition. Then…like old friends we hug one another, a genuine hug. And we have a few minutes of catch up. And then what? Explore the area we’re in. Toss around silly ideas of what to do next. Happily we both have ample time to spend together.

Honestly, the ideal date depends on the connection. I’d rather do something together than sit across a table trying to interview each other. Somewhere we can walk around, explore, laugh, and actually hear each other talk sounds pretty great.
I also think ordinary life makes a surprisingly good date. Grocery shopping together, cooking something at home, tackling a project side-by-side, or finding out if we’re compatible with a Friday movie night tells me more than an expensive dinner ever could.
Maybe we change the oil and do a break job. Who knows? :p
The activity matters a lot less to me than enjoying the person I’m doing it with.
