I think a great way to get to know someone new is to meet while running an errand. The location would be decided upon by both parties (could be grocery shopping, meeting someone while they're getting an oil change). I see it as a way of getting to know someone while they are doing an everyday activity.

good first dates; go to the science museum, Wednesday night concerts at the beach, checkout local band at a bar, dessert and a glass of wine in a quiet restaurant, baseball game (any sporting event actually), anything really, it is what you make of it. i checked errand dating below, i never heard of such a thing but i think i absolutely effin love it!!! trying to figure out when i will have time to date, perfect solution; get dual oil changes...why not?
