Not really sure. I haven't "dated" for 16 years. Perhaps meeting someone to walk and talk and get some exercise would be a great first meeting...or maybe a social drink. I don't drink coffee after my morning cup so unless you want to meet at 6 am maybe not that :)

A first date is an opportunity to compare someone's online picture to what they look like in real life so it should be as awkward as possible. If you didn't sense the joking sarcasm in that, we probably shouldn't hang out...
A walk around a resevoir or a park where you can go to feed the ducks - only to be chased around by hissing murder geese - sounds nice enough. First dates don't need to be anything extravagent, in fact it's refreshing to just hang out and be able to have some conversation. Day-to-day life encompasses a huge chunk of actual time together.

Outdoors, probably the beach for a walk, coffee and chat. I am a bit old-school and come from a country part of the west of Ireland, so I like the idea of friendly conversations with random people. No pressure, just a meet and greet.

My first dates usually include traveling somewhere beautiful to hike a high vista and enjoy a packed meal. Mountain biking would be a good second date for me. I usually like to do things I haven't done before. I would love to take a hot air balloon trip. Backpacking is always a good time with an awesome partner.
