A cosy corner in a coffee shop, with a latte. Then a nice walk along the lake, or a walk near the sea.
Cinema date! I love film and cinema but I know some find this restricting on a date, so a meal afterwards would be perfect.

I don't know what a first date would look like honestly. I've been on like 2 dates in my lifetime. Maybe burgers and a drive in movie where we sit awkwardly and hold each others hands or something idk

I'm traditional in a sense. Movie and a dinner. We'd go see a movie, buy candy, popcorn, and soda. Then after the movie, we'd go to a nice restaurant and have dinner. We can talk about what we liked and didn't like about the movie as well as about each other, what caught our attention to one another and a little about ourselves.

The movies as first date sounds nice. Learning to enjoy each others company and chat about it after either at dinner or coffee after is a good place to start.
Enjoying your time and company even in silence and when we aren't directly interacting is one of my ideas of how to build up a connection.
Although if it's friendship, then straight to the nearest event and bar and just laugh life away. We can recover at spoons the next day and bond over that more.

Probably just the classic dinner and a movie for a first date. I'm rather adventurous but I would want it to be a basic starter to see if we get along or not. I wouldn't expect to be paid for, I'd probably cover myself on the first date because I don't want to feel like I owe you anything
